What a crazy 48 hours here in Tignes! While plenty of snow has fallen, we've also received huge gusts of storm winds that blew the snow into drifts everywhere and made it very difficult to walk around the resort.
The wind settled overnight however, so everyone is looking forward to the resort opening once the safety operations are complete. It's been several weeks (since the 27th of December) since we've had a decent top up of snow so this recent dump from the snow gods is very much appreciated.
A predicted 50cms will have fallen over the past 48 hours and while we're expected to receive more throughout the day today, the sun should show its face again by tomorrow. Great to see some more top-ups predicted over the next few days too, with slightly warmer temperatures and lighter winds. A lovely injection of wintery conditions to maintain the already perfect pistes here in Tignes!
