La Folie Douce - Le Butcher , Val d'Isere

Perfect for a quick bite on the slopes, Le Butcher serves up gourmet-style burgers, sandwiches and sweet treats with speed and flavour. Enjoy your meal on the sunny terrace or take it away if you’re in a rush. Stick around after lunch and you might find yourself caught up in La Folie Douce legendary après-ski party.

Located at the top of the La Daille bubble, Le Butcher is a great choice for those who want to eat on the go! You can either order the food to takeaway or eat it on their outdoor terrace. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, fresh juices and waffles.

Le Butcher is open every day from 11:30 to 16:30.

It's not the only place to eat at La Folie Douce. Just behind Le Butcher is the gourmet-quality, canteen-style restaurant La Petite Cuisine. La Fruitière, just next door to both, serves contemporary cuisine made by Chef Franck Mischler. For a mid-afternoon break, try Les Trois Caves, their very own wine bar serving delicious local cheeses and cigars.

After lunch, enjoy La Folie Douce's famous party. Every day from 13:00, the best performers, dancers, musicians and DJs gather on the terrace of this clubbing hotspot for a cabaret show and, from 15:00, La Folie Douce turns into a club for the ultimate après-ski experience.

Les Planches Restaurant, Tignes Le Lac

2. Les Planches Restaurant

A trendy restaurant with sharing plates, lake views and live music and apéro every Friday.

At Les Planches almost everything is served on a traditional wooden board. You can enjoy a varied menu, focused primarily around large boards of charcuterie, local cheeses, grilled meats, and even dessert board with a selection of cakes, tarts and patisseries. Perfect for sharing and snacking, or you can indulge with one to yourself and refuel after a day on the mountain!

More traditional individual dishes are also available, including burger and chips, meat and fish dishes and home-made pizzas.

Enjoy your meal on the expansive terrace overlooking the lake of Tignes Le Lac, or inside in the cosy restaurant.

On Fridays enjoy their Live Music Happy Hour, with drinks starting from €5 and a new set from live musicians each week. Reservations recommended during these times.

Niurou Steakhouse Restaurant, Tignes Le Lac

3. Niurou Steakhouse Restaurant

Niurou steakhouse offers a selection of cuts of beef.

Niurou offers a modern menu, using local and seasonal products sourced from local suppliers, to ensure their guests are served with best quality meats and slow-cooked side dishes. Tuck into a classic ribeye steak or a cote de boeuf sharing steak, add a peppercorn or Roquefort sauce, a side of chips, Beaufort Mac & Cheese, Southern style greens, or garlic mushrooms and wash it all down with a good bottle of wine from their extensive and reasonably-priced wine list.

The restaurant is a real treat for meat-eaters, but vegan and vegetarian dishes are also available and they are happy to cater to a range of dietary needs. Children's options are available including their kids steak and chips and Mac & Cheese.

The restaurant has a traditional and relaxed atmosphere and is a great restaurant for a special occasion with friends and family during your stay in Tignes.

Reservation in advance is recommended, and possible up to one month in advance. Maximum groups of six people.

A hidden gem in Tignes resort, rated for its simple but delicious traditional French food and excellent service.

On the menu you'll find a range of meat and fish options with traditional French accompaniments. If you fancy trying a local speciality, opt for the range of Savoyard options with the traditional sharing fondue or raclette, or the tartiflette. Finish with a local Savoie cheeseboard, or a chocolate tart. Wash down your meal with a bottle from the wine list.
