Orange weather alert for Tignes

Heavy rainfall is expected during the latter part of the day today and into tomorrow, so much so that an orange alert has been issued by France meteo.

Strong gusts of wind and hail may be experienced in some places, but the main concern is the amount or rainfall expected - around 30mm between tonight and tomorrow morning.

Some useful advice from the authorities:

• Limit your road speed if driving
• Stay away from waterways
• Avoid being outdoors in particular in wooded areas
• Avoid taking part in watersports
• Don't try to walk or drive through sumberged road sections
