1. Helicopter tours

A fantastic way to see the resort with your friends and family and a great way to entertain any non-skiers in your group.

Experience the beauty of the mountains by taking an amazing tour in a helicopter to view stunning, remote locations. Get a birdseye view of the Espace Killy and Three Valleys ski domains and their nature reserves as well as the Mont Blanc Valley.

You can choose a 10 minute, 30 minute or 60 minute flight

  • 10 minute heli scenic tour – Depart from your resort and circle the parameter of the nature reserve, with views around your resort and surrounding mountains.
  • 30 minute heli scenic tour – Departing from your local resort and adventuring further afield to surrounding glaciers, resorts and national parks.
  • 60 minute heli scenic tour – Not only is this a fantastic experience giving you time to really take in the moment and the scenery, it allows us to fly low over some simply stunning glaciers and down to the base of Mont Blanc for a tour of this awe inspiring mountain range before completing a loop of Italy and heading back into France.

2. Heliskiing/boarding

For backcountry adventures, this independent company operates in and around the following three heliski destinations: Valgrisenche, The Courmayeur Valley and the Col de Petit St Bernard Pass. They have pioneered 32 drop zones within these three broad valley regions giving you a huge choice of terrain, snow conditions and mountain orientation to ensure you have a day best suited to your ability and preferences.

You can choose to have one, two or three drops depending on your budget, fitness ability and experience!

  • One drop heliski – For those skiers and snowboarders who are looking to try heliskiing for the first time or those who are looking for a quick heliski hit away from the crowds without breaking the bank.
  • Two drop heliski – Two drops for those that have a little more fitness, off piste experience and money to spend.
  • Three drop heliski – Three longer flights allow you to get higher and further into the backcountry to find THE best snow and best terrain far away from lifts, roads and other people.

There is no limit in place for the number of people that can book, however, generally there are four clients per helicopter plus a guide. Their guides are happy to supply you with any of the equipment needed to make sure you have the perfect experience. They also provide you with transceivers, shovels and probes.

Bun J Ride, Tignes

3. Ski bungee jump

Thrill seekers prepare yourselves for the new winter/summer attraction in Tignes. The Bun J Ride allows you to jump a 30m ramp, falling off into a 40m drop on bungee cords, and then locks you into a zip wire taking you back down to earth.

You're attached by two bungee cords at the waist and once you've left the ramp and stopped bouncing, the zip wire brings you safely back down to earth.

You can do it on skis, snowboard, a bike, in tandem or on a sledge.

Find it next to the Merles lift and the Lac blue piste.

Minimum age 13 and minimum weight 40kg.

It's open every day except Saturday between 10:30 to 16:30 from 21st December to 18th April.

Tignes Snowmobile, Tignes Le Lac

4. Tignes Snowmobile Activity Company

Snowmobiles are illegal on the pistes during the day but once the slopes are closed you can get out on your Skidoo and discover Tignes under the stars.

In Tignes, nothing stops the fun! At nightfall, the snow becomes a terrain to discover a unique sport combining nighttime discovery and adrenaline – snowmobiling.

As an enthusiast of nature and motor sport, you’ll enjoy the pleasure of driving a motorized vehicle while exploring the resort beneath the starry sky.

One highlight of your snowmobiling ride is a stop at the Mongolian Yurt. Overlooking the resort, this inviting and rustic hut will send you on a journey through time and space.

5. School of Ice Diving

Experience the sub aquatic world, the beauty of the colours below and the explore the icy lake in Tignes.

This company will take you diving in the Tignes lake, submerging yourself in the icy water might seem a little daunting but it is a truly unique experience. With all the specific equipment provided (including a dry suit, tight gloves and facial masks to keep warm) you can enjoy this amazing experience.

6. Heli-Skiing

Alpamayo are a group of high mountain guides based in Chamonix all year round as well as in Val d'Isere and Tignes in the winter.

Alpamayo offer guides for off piste adventure, ice climbing and heli-skiing tours in the winter months. And in the summer months the guide glacier hikes, mountaineering and climbing courses, ascents of Mont Blanc and other high mountains in Switzerland and Italy.
