Snow fall for the opening weekend
The lifts opened Tignes and Val d'Isere this weekend and although not all of the lifts or runs were open the snow was great and there is plenty more on the way.
All the pistes held good cover and the snow in the off piste was light and deep enough to grant a few turns although I wouldn't venture too far off piste until this weeks snow has had a chance to top up the snow pack and settle a little.

There is a constant barrage of live music après-ski throughout the winter, as well as the much anticipated Live in Tignes festival each April. In the summer, the resort plays home to some major trail running events, such as the High Trail Vanoise in July and the Tignes Trail in August.
