Henry Schniewind, off-piste guide at Alpine Experience gives an interview on staying safe in the off piste during one of the most unstable snow packs Tignes has seen in a decade.

We've had lots of snow in the last 24 hours, enough to get a bit of an off-piste run in, although there were a few rocks in places.

It's been a great week on piste after the snow fall we had last weekend, and plenty of sunshine has made it all the better.

Piste skiing has got better and better this week, with fresh snow covering up the icy patches that had started to appear recently. 

Could there be more snow coming next week??

We've had lots of snow across the alps in the last week, which is great news for anyone heading to Tignes between now and the end of the season.

The snow in Tignes is holding up nicely and conditions on piste are really great this week with 74cm at the base.

A little bit of fresh snow this week has helped top up conditions and maintain the kickers in the snowpark.

The snow cover is still really good this week with a couple of options open all the way to Les Brevieres.

Even though we're heading towards the end of the season, there is still great snow cover all the way to 1800.

Great conditions on the pistes even though visibility was a little lacking.

Around a metre of snow has fallen in Tignes in the last seven days and conditions across the Espace Killy are now really good.

We've been enjoying fresh powder again just yesterday after more snow arrived this week.

The pistes in Val Claret are in good condition at the moment and the park shapers have been building up some of the features to make them a bit more challenging. 

Looks like there are a lot of smiling faces in Tignes this weekend so make sure you don't miss out on that special Christmas Day ski.

Excellent snow fall has meant a vast improvement on and off piste in Val d'Isere and Tignes.

Snow is crisp underfoot in the early part of the day, softening up a little in the afternoon. A little bit of light snow also fell over the weekend.

It's been a cold week across the alps this week although it has been sunny too, making for great conditions on the mountain. 

It's been a gorgeous week this week, after 40cm snow fell at the weekend, we've had plenty of sunshine and blue skies.

Snow conditions in Tignes are good at the moment, good enough for Team GB star of freestyle skiing James 'Woodsy' Woods to come over and hit the snowpark!

Since this video was filmed on Friday, heavy snow has returned to the Espace Killy, topping up the pistes.

La Folie Douce is one of the liveliest paces to head on the mountain for apres ski, with cabaret dancers, musicians and magnums of champagne being delivered to thirsty party-goers by a mini cable car.

Good news from those of you staying in the lower parts of Tignes like Les Brevieres as you can now ski all the way down.

Heading lower down in resort to Les Brevieres is a good idea especially on bad weather days or days with low visibility.

Tignes has had great snow cover but today's snow storm has given the whole resort a really nice top up. 

The pistes are in great condition this week and the sun has arrived in time for the half term holidays.

The snow storm caused a fair few lifts to shut this weekend, with high winds and lots more fresh snow. 

These guys took a little hike up to the eye on the needle and got some good snow on the way down too... Enjoy!

"July 2015 was the hottest month ever recorded on the surface of the globe since the beginning of temperature records in 1880," suddenly even deep Tarentaise, we needed the fresh air on the glacier of the Grande Motte in Tignes.

The sun has been shining on the slopes of Tignes allowing for some great post-Christmas skiing in the Val Claret area.

Tignes has a great snow pack with 110cm at the base of resort and 230cm at the summit.

It's been lovely and sunny this week and the pistes have been relatively quiet.
