The Tignes Spirit Sale

This week Tignes Spirit, Tignes’ only independent, British-owned ski and snowboard shop set up a huge sale for seasonnaires and holidaymakers alike. Tuesday the shop set up in Saloon in Val Claret for the 2800 students out for the Oxford vs Cambridge Varsity trip and Wednesday the shop moved just over the road to Lavachet’s Brasero’s. Tignes Spirit brought loads of brand-new and ex rental boards, skis, boots, and awesome outerwear and gear to the sales with the intention of giving the Tignes community a helping hand in grabbing themselves a bargain.

Tignes Spirit’s dedication to the community within Tignes is highlighted by the fact the shop gives free rentals to the chalet staff that work with them and do great deals on ex rental or past seasons equipment. This is also shown through their locals card. The guys in the shop know it can be pretty hard working in a ski resort, and this is a chance for them to give back to those who help keep the customers walking in through the shop door. This magical piece of plastic gives seasonaires 20% off in store, discounts on ski servicing and extra deals and discounts throughout the season.

Despite the lack of snow this week the turn out was great, even selling two brand new Endevour boards to the bar staff! The shop takes a lot of time over selecting the best equipment, often choosing smaller rider owned and independent brands of hardware and apparel, including Salomon, Head, Elan, Movement, Majesty, Dalbello, Nike, Burton, Endeavor, Signal, Airblaster, Ashbury, Stance, Butta, Dragon Alliance and many others. As well as being the only stockists of Endevour, Signal and Airblaster in Tignes they take time to guarantee awesome quality as well as ensuring that the shop believes in the ethos and marketing of the brands they sell.

The time the shop has taken over the years to build up a community is shown through the fact so many bought Tignes Spirit’s own branded hoody at the sale. Also the Endevour sales meeting was hosted by the Dragon lodge this year demonstrating the links between brands and businesses here in Tignes. As well as selling some awesome stuff, Tignes Spirit has a rental service, offering free deliveries and a collection service. The quality of products and the low prices offered are hard to match in Tignes. The Shop has both French and English speaking technicians who have been hand picked for their extensive technical knowledge and amazing customer service skills. The entire crew live for the snow and action sports many who compete on both international and national levels, including top-notch instructors, skydivers and surfers. Look out for them at the Brits, they were the best UK shop team at the British Championships in 2013 and 2014, winning the most medals across the board! A lot of the technicians within the shop, as well as many locals within Tignes love the freedom of touring. Tignes Spirit offer the latest in touring skis, split-boards, snow shoes and cross-country equipment all available for rent and purchase. The shop also offers daily rates and demos enabling you to go rent some fat skis or boards on a powder day!

For those holiday makers with kids, Tignes spirit also offer skis and boards as small as 70cm. And for those beginners who are not willing to shell out for new equipment for one week of skiing a year, Tignes offer outerwear and protective clothing hire.
