Hot hotels in Tignes for Winter
Tignes has a broad range of accommodation on offer throughout the winter and summer seasons. If you prefer to stay in a hotel rather than a chalet or apartment, you should easily be able to find something to suit your taste.
You'll find plenty of choice when you start looking for a hotel in Tignes but we've helped narrow down the list with a few of our favourites.
There are two five-star hotels on offer at the resort. The first one to open its doors was Les Suites du Nevada in 2008. Offering large suites, a fine restaurant and a fully-equipped spa, it rapidly became a hit with visitors to Tignes. Les Suites du Montana followed, made up of five Savoyard-style chalets, this hotel boasts accommodation for 2 to 4 people as well as a brand new gourmet restaurant and a spa complete with beauty treatments and massages. There are also stunning four-star hotels like Les Campanules, in Le Lac, which features a range of contemporary rooms with plush interiors and an outdoor heated pool in its spa. The times of Tignes as a purely low-cost resort are long gone...
Family Friendly Hotels
If you're taking a skiing holiday with the family, it's always good to find somewhere with a bit extra space for the kids and with good facilities to keep them entertained. The 3-star hotel Le Refuge is a fantastic option for families with its convenient location in the heart of Tignes Le Lac, close to the lifts and ski schools as well as to the glacier, offering the opportunity to ski in winter and summer. Boasting family rooms, children will be fascinated by its history as Tignes first mountain refuge, built in 1924. In Val Claret, the all-inclusive Club Med Resort has a good children's club which caters for kids from four years old right through to teenagers.
Group Friendly Hotels
There is plenty of good-sized hotel accommodation in Tignes which makes it an ideal ski destination for large groups. The UCPA is made up of two traditional chalet buildings with 348 rooms sleeping two or four people with easy access to the vast Espace Killy ski area. They offer a fully-inclusive package, lift pass, equipment hire, instructors, breakfast lunch and dinner plus they put on an entertainment programme each week to give you extra things to do once the sun goes down. Another great option for groups is an aparthotel, the Cap Neige Residence has apartments for up 16 guests. The residence also boasts a luxurious spa and other hotel conveniences.
Tignes is a great resort for those on a budget and there is a host of affordable hotels across the valley. Just 100 metres from the pistes in Tignes Les Brevieres is the Chardons Chalet Hotel run by a bunch of skiers and snowboarders passionate about Tignes and keeping the costs of accommodation to a minimum. Le Dome and Le Curling Chalet Hotels are also great options offering budget accommodation right next to the pistes. Breakfast, afternoon tea with cakes and four-course dinner are included so that you can save even more on your ski trip.
