A snowsure ski destination & a great place to visit in summer
Tignes is one of the best ski areas to come to for a long, snow-sure season. The main resort on the edge of Le Lac sits at an altitude of 2100m above sea level while the lower villages still boast altitudes of 1550m and 1850m. The old town of Tignes disappeared beneath the waters of the Lac du Chevril when the valley was dammed in 1952. Now the resort is made up of many smaller purpose-built villages at varying altitudes, with Tignes-Le-Lac generally classed as the main one. The entire resort is built around the needs of the skier, so there is never a lift too far from the front door of your accommodation.

As such, the nightlife and dining options ensure there is something to suit every taste and budget.
