Tignes Les Brévières is the most traditional and picturesque of the Tignes villages, set at 1,550 metres at the foot of the valley beside the river. With its pretty stone farmhouses, old chalets and cosy bistros, it feels like a true Alpine village and offers a very different atmosphere to the modern centres higher up the mountain. Accommodation is mostly made up of chalets, boutique hotels and a few self-catering apartments, all with plenty of Savoyard character.
It’s a great choice if you’re looking for somewhere quieter and more authentic, with a laid back après ski scene and some excellent restaurants to enjoy after a day on the slopes. The gondola links you into the wider ski area with ease, but do keep in mind that there are no shuttle buses, so once the lifts close, you’ll be staying in this peaceful spot. Perfect for couples, families or anyone who prefers a relaxed base with plenty of charm.

In the winter Les Brévières welcomes the skiing and snowboarding crowd offering excellent lift connections meaning you can stay in Les Brévières and still have access to the whole Espace Killy ski area via the Sache bubble which sits at the top of the resort by the riverside. With a host of restaurants, shops, chalets, hotels, apartments and its traditional charm the resort has a buzzing and vibrant feel in the winter. The bottom of the Brévières slopes is a hub of restaurants making it a great place to have lunch during a day out skiing. A sun trap in the afternoon people from all over the Espace Killy will head down to this lovely village for a spot of lunch.
When summer comes round Tignes Les Brévières becomes much quieter as the skiers leave, the locals rest from the winter season and the mountains turn from snow white to a forest green. Although the resort is much quieter there is still plenty to do with Tignes having a whole range of summer activities. There are lots of hiking and walking routes to be discovered, where you can experience the stunning scenery and views of the mountains. If you are after more of an adrenaline rush then mountain biking may be for you. Tignes is known for its great mountain biking trails and routes and with just a short drive up to Val Claret you can hop on the bike and explore the mountain. There is even some summer skiing to be had on the Grande Motte glacier in Tignes Val Claret.
